I would find that acceptable.

Because Honda? Seriously though I can't help but hope that front bumper is a joke and the stock one goes back on.

After all the precision work with an angle grinder?

becuase they have a show where they show how to mod things.

and he'll get a new Nissan in a few months, and the s2k will be on it's way. it's all good, just sit back and enjoy, don't hate

Their deal is showing people how to do mods. The whole point of the S2000 is to 1. Try to understand the stereotypical "honda crowd" and 2. Do mods that they would not want to do to their own cars that they love. Hence the hood pins, NOS, shitty bolt on body kits, etc

So. You like that bumper cover?

Kinja'd!!! MonkeePuzzle > CalzoneGolem

Kinja'd!!!1

I do not. but I appreciate that they are showing that aftermarket bumpers take some finangling, and likely a paint episode is upcoming.

I've got no problem with the Pins or NOS.

It's not like it's the first time they put an aftermarket bumper on something.

I was all what the heck as well. Hopefully it doesnt look terrible but after all the grinding they did with it on the car (for some reason) I bet it stays. And whats with the hood pins?

I almost forgot about the trdlzr.

Kinja'd!!!0

Neither do I. Hell, I've thought about putting hood pins on my Miata. I personally don't want to deal with the hassle of filling a NOS system, but I understand it's uses for racing and cheap power. At, the same time I don't blame them for not wanting them on their own cars. They are rather polarizing mods.

One could at least argue that the hood pins are functional.

For what? Is there some racing that requires them? I dont see how they are better than the factory latch.

Kinja'd!!! MonkeePuzzle > CalzoneGolem
01/16/2015 at 12:20

I suspect they do a lot of whatever their forums ask them to do. The hood pins episode for example asked just that.

Ah no idea. They just mentioned in the show that some racing requires them.

I think it's for a future episode.

I bet they don't really like many of the mods they make (they've actually stated this once), but they do it anyway so they can teach stuff.

Kinja'd!!! MonkeePuzzle > CalzoneGolem

they've certainly come a long way from it being a total side project on $500 beaters, but it's still basically the same formula. Get a car, drive it around, mod it in whatever way the fans ask or the internet in general is currently calling cool. Sell it on and get something else.

Fair enough. Wouldn't be the first time they've done a mod I've looked at them a bit sideways for (garden sprayer IC spray set up most recently), but by and large the show is good fun, and if you don't like some particular car or mod it doesn't really matter since they seem to move on pretty quickly anyway.

Kinja'd!!! CalzoneGolem > CKeffer
01/16/2015 at 14:25

Kinja'd!!!0

The inter cooler sprayer was functional so it's got that going for it.

Kinja'd!!! CKeffer > CalzoneGolem
01/16/2015 at 14:32

Kinja'd!!!1

Kinda, would be much more functional with a motor and wheel mounted button or something similar since the instances where it would help most (track and spirited driving) are the times you least want your hands off the wheel. I also seem to remember Moog saying something about the bumper not having been his first choice either, but the one he really wanted was stupidly expensive, hard to find, and it just didn't make sense to spend the money there.
